Trilho dos lameiros do Barroso – PR2 BTC

Pedestrian route promoted by the Municipality of Boticas

The small route, Trilho dos Lameiros do Barroso, is a circular pedestrian route, starting and finishing at the information panel located in Largo da Capela, in Vilarinho Seco, a traditional village with granaries and granite houses, where some of the inhabitants still wear traditional costumes. Leaving the village, the route heads towards Ponte de Mena, along a path between mudflats well tended by the local people, and continues to Bostofrio, a typical Barroso village where stone walls abound flanking the paths and mudflats that make green the dominant colour of the landscape.

On the way out of the village there is a small by-pass that leads to a traditional shelter that used to protect shepherds from the adverse weather conditions that are often experienced in this region. Continuing in the direction of the village of Agrelos, there is another small by-pass to the village of Lagoas. Arriving in Agrelos, the trail runs through the streets of the village, passing under the Casa do Morgado footbridge, and continues towards the Miradouro da Lomba, where the route takes more mountainous paths, and returns to the starting point.
