On a hill in the middle of the southern slope of the Serra do Leiranco, dominating the wide vein that stretches down to the River Terva from Bobadela to Boticas, stands a large settlement defended by three sturdy lines of surrounding walls, preceded on the eastern side by a wide, deep moat with an outer slope.

The defence system consists of three lines of walls and a moat.
On the interior platforms there are ruins of circular houses, some with flagstone floors and revealing the characteristic polygonal structure in the visible sections of the walls.

It has already been the subject of archaeological excavations, showing evidence of occupation up to Roman times, which extends to the foot of the hill. In the south-west area, a granite boulder was found with some engravings, consisting of several dimples and some furrows.
