On 27 July, the Great Hall of Boticas Town Hall will host the conference ‘Participatory Archaeology and Living Heritage: Practices and Challenges in Portugal and Galicia’, which will also be streamed online via Zoom. The event aims to promote debate on the role of communities in the research, management and enhancement of archaeological heritage, encouraging collaboration between the academic world, local stakeholders and the general public.

The initiative forms part of the European models of participatory heritage governance, which have been promoted since 2014, and will feature the presentation of four projects that illustrate the current paradigm shift in the research, management and promotion of cultural heritage.

Attendance is free, but prior registration is required. Further information and registration here.
