Historical repository of the Wine of the Dead

Boticas

The story goes in the region that in the second French invasion, the people of the current municipality of Boticas, afraid they would be looted, hid what they could, including the wine, which was buried in the cellar floor under the barrels and presses. After the invaders left, and when it was dug up, it had qualities unknown until then. The tradition of burying the wine remains to this day, and it is known as the wine of the dead.
