Boticas

The four routes aim to showcase the municipality's natural, cultural and scenic heritage, as well as its endogenous resources, through infrastructures and facilities created with the aim of increasing the tourist offer in a region classified by the FAO as a World Agricultural Heritage Site. Based on the genuineness of the territory, the traditional way of working the land and treating the livestock, and the community spirit of its inhabitants.

The itineraries aim to showcase the municipality's natural, cultural and scenic heritage.

Rota das Levadas – PR4 BTC

The Rota das Levadas has a total length of 13.3 kilometres and is circular, starting and finishing at Boticas Parque - Nature and Biodiversity. The route begins by following the left bank of the River Beça and after crossing it, follows the right bank where it crosses cultivated land on the alluvial plain. More

Trilho do Guerreiro – PR5 BTC RPN

The Trilho do Guerreiro (Warrior's Trail) favours public, traditional and ancient paths, passing through the village of Vilar, the River Beça, the Beça River crossing polders, the Hillfort of Outeiro Lesenho and the mound of Chã do Lesenho (a megalithic funerary monument). More

The short route of the Trilho de Covas do Barroso (Covas do Barroso Trail) is a circular pedestrian route, starting and finishing next to the information panel located near the Forno do Povo de Covas do Barroso (Covas do Barroso People's Oven), which used to play an important role in village society, serving as a meeting place during the evenings, but also as a hostel for the poor, beggars and pilgrims passing through the village. The Trilho dos Lameiros do Barroso short route is a circular pedestrian route, starting and finishing next to the information panel located in Largo da Capela, in Vilarinho Seco, a traditional village with granaries and granite houses, where some of the inhabitants still wear traditional costumes.
