The Nadir Afonso Museum of Contemporary Art (MACNA) houses around a hundred paintings donated by the foundation bearing his name, hundreds of studies and an important collection of books and document archives.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Nadir Afonso is one of the most important figures in the history of art in Portugal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nadir Afonso Arts Centre<\/a> (1920-2013) was a Portuguese architect, painter and thinker who left an important artistic legacy characterised by geometric precision and visual harmony. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of modern and contemporary art in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building, designed by the architect \u00c1lvaro Siza Vieira, also hosts temporary exhibitions, as a result of a protocol with the National Museum of Contemporary Art - \"Museu do Chiado\" (MNAC) and other institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
