Photo TR\/TC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">The Lagoon of Brejo site includes wetlands, common alder and grey willow trees that are considered priority conservation habitats in Portugal. These refer to woodlands dominated by common alder wood (<em>Alnus glutinosa<\/em>), grey willows (<em>Salix atrocinerea<\/em>), and a significant quantity of birch trees (<em>Betula alba<\/em>In a mosaic pattern with these woodlands are small areas dominated by sphagnum and an abundance of\nacidophilus reeds of&nbsp;<em>J. acutiflorus<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>J. conglomeratus<\/em>&nbsp;and\/or&nbsp;<em>Juncus effusus<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Brejo Lagoon\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bNzKPIjH0wM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">In terms of fauna, the lagoon is recognized as the area with the highest number of identified species, which is revealing of its high specific value.
