Located on a promontory of conical morphology, at the limit of the municipalities of Boticas and Chaves, the settlement, from the Iron Age, is delimited by two lines of surrounding walls, which present a marked overthrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defence system is complemented by a field of hollowed-out stones, located in the northern part of the settlement. Traces of dwellings can be identified on the upper platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A small hermitage is preserved partially overlapping one of the wall lines.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On the western slope, partially overlapping one of the wall lines, a small hermitage is preserved, partially embedded in the rocky outcrop. Inside there are some impressive inscriptions and symbols engraved in bas-relief, which reveal an evident religious syncretism of Christian tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hermit Jos\u00e9, who built, decorated and occupied the hermitage<\/a> at the end of the 20th century, abandoned the site at the beginning of the 21st century, having resettled in the sanctuary of Nossa Senhora das Neves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
